Museum Program for the Laurens Genies

The Laurens Genies came to the museum for their monthly meeting in June. Museum volunteers Dorothy Runneberg, Jeanette Korrect, Connie Dallenbach, and Dorothy Lamberti presented the program. In an effort to bring  county history to life, they chose four representative settlers: Charles Kelley, an Irish immigrant, Solomon T. Grove, an itinerant preacher, Bertha Roewe,  a teacher and Winnie Rigby, a homemaker. The presenters used facts from each of the settlers' lives to illustrate aspects of Pocahontas County history and tied their stories into artifacts at the museum.
