"The Highest Calling"

We enjoyed ourselves so much earlier this year when we invited the Laurens-Marathon American History class to create a display about World War I that we decided to extend the invitation to other groups.

This time, we asked the Keepsake Questers Club of Laurens. (That's their former name. They are in the process of changing it.) We suggested a 1950's display since the museum is lacking items from that era. They rose to the challenge with an exhibit called "The Highest Calling." They had plenty of items to show. They added photos and quotes to the exhibit that will make you chuckle.

We'll give you a sneak preview with this photo of the introductory sign for the display.

Come visit the museum and view the rest of this funny and thoughtful display. The museum is open on Friday, July 8 from 4:30-7:30 and on Saturday, July 9 from 11-4.

If you know of a group in the county that would like to create a guest display at the museum, or if you have any small 1950's items that you would like to donate to the museum, please let us know.
