A Wish List

Here at the museum, we love to tell the stories of Pocahontas County. We do programs for school students and local clubs. We update exhibits at the museum to keep visitors coming back. We display parts of our collection in three of the county libraries. We use many of the artifacts at the museum to help tell these stories, but we've noticed some gaps in our collection.

Would you like to help out by donating any of the following items to the museum?

wood rake
scythe
wood egg crate
small chicken equipment
washing plunger
razor strop

pitcher and bowl for wash stand
printed flour sack
item of clothing made from a flour sack

railroad items

telephone (before 1940's)
early radio (1950's or before)
small items from the 1950's (poodle skirt, saddle shoes, household items, etc)
any small items pertaining to the immigrant experience

kitchen cupboard
cook stove (Our cook stove is in sad shape.)
ice chest
cradle

photos of Pocahontas County (These can be scanned and returned.)
We are particularly interested in farming photos or indoor photos

any item from Pocahontas County that has a good story

Remember, although we have big ideas, we are a small museum. Items can't be too big.

If you have something that you would like to donate, please call Connie at 841-2222 or Dorothy at 845-4496. Thanks!
