We love to work with Ms. Stover's American History class. This time, we took to the "road" and drove up to the Laurens-Marathon School with our cars full of museum goodies to help the students "do history."
First, the students got the local angle by listening to stories about early immigrants to Pocahontas County.
Then they chose an artifact from our collection of items that were once used by these immigrants. The students searched the internet to discover what each
item was, how it was used, and what it might tell them about the
immigrant experience.
